Cephas Zhuwao plays a record breaking innings.

Cephas Zhuwao commonly known in Zimbabwe Cricket circles as “Big Bully” scored an impressive and record breaking innings of 265 of 318 balls in a four day match for the Mash Eagles. His batting perfomance included 25 fours and 13 sixes. This is what he had to say after the innings  “I really can’t explain the excitement I have after scoring a massive record breaking 265 in one inning, it has always being my wish to score big and break records. Thanks to my father Prophet Walter Magaya, family, friends and teammates without you I wouldn’t be where I am now.. more to come” Cephas Zhuwao will be hoping to catch the eyes of the selectors for the upcoming tours and World Cup Qualifiers scheduled for March 2018 in Zimbabwe.


Zim A lose second game to UAE

Zimbabwe A lost the second unofficial One day match to UAE in Dubai at the ICC Academy ground.


After setting a total of 244 in 50 overs Zimbabwe lost by 5 wickets for the UAE to go two up in the five match series. At one point Zimbabwe was struggling at 95-5 but the end they managed to go past the 200 mark and end up at at 244 in their 50 overs P Masvaure was top scorer with 89 and T Chisoro 59. The UAE have their work cut out as they only have to win the next match to seal a series win for Zimbabwe. The top scores for the UAE Usman 71 and Boota 71. Zimbabwe’s problems continue as they struggle to find a winning formula and they will have to dig deep if they are to win the series.

Zim A go down to UAE

Zimbabwe A go down in the first game to UAE in the five match unofficial One Day series.


Zimbabwe A lost to United Arab Emirates by four wickets with 28 balls remaining. Zimbabwe set out for 224-9 in 50 overs and the hosts in response scored 225-6 taking them to a very comfortable win over the tourist. UAE lead the 5 match series 1 – 0. Zimbabwe will have to tighten up and bounce back in the next match if they are to stay in the series and losing the second will only put more pressure of the relatively inexperienced side captained by Chamunorwa Chibhabha.

Regis Chakabva scored a century for the Eagles

Regis Chakabva scored an impressive 138 to help the Eagles reach 370/8 declared in a four day match against the Mid-West Rhinos


After coming under a lot of criticism of his selection in the Test team as a wicket keeper in the recently ended 2 Test Match series against West Indies. Chakabva’s performance with the gloves and bat left a lot to be desired with his stubborn innings of 77 not out in the second innings of the second test that helped Zimbabwe secure a draw. Regis Chakabva reminded everyone why he deserved to be in the test squad and he has carried that fine form to the domestic scene and the young man wants to prove why he should the number one man behind the stumps for Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe take on South Africa later on in December.

Tom Curran called up to replace Steven Finn

The son of late Zimbabwe Coach Kevin Curran 22 year old Tom Curran has been called up for the England Ashes squad to replace Steven Finn


Tom Curran made his debut in the summer and the English selectors gave him the nod to replace Steven Finn after suffering an injury. He made his first international appearance in the T20 against South Africa and also made his ODI debut against West Indies. Tom Curran recent form and performances got himself another contract with Surrey his County side. He departs to join the rest of the squad in Australia

Zim players set to take part in BPL

Zimbabwe Cricket captain Greame Cremer, Solomon Mire, Malcom Waller Sikandar Raza are set to take part in this year’s BPL cricket tournament in Bangladesh.


The tournament consist of Seven teams that will play each other twice at the initial stage before the knockout stage where the top four teams will take part with a single elimination game. The final game will take part between the winner of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 I hope the players taking part in this tournament will benefit a great deal and also help with building our local We wish the players the best of luck and we hope there will do themselves proud during the tournament. Other notable international players also playing in the BPL are Darren Bravo, Chris Gayle, Shane Watson, Jos Butler just to mention a few.
