Zimbabwe set out for 224-9 in 50 overs and the hosts in response scored 225-6 taking them to a very comfortable win over the tourist. UAE lead the 5 match series 1 – 0. Zimbabwe will have to tighten up and bounce back in the next match if they are to stay in the series and losing the second will only put more pressure of the relatively inexperienced side captained by Chamunorwa Chibhabha.

After coming under a lot of criticism of his selection in the Test team as a wicket keeper in the recently ended 2 Test Match series against West Indies. Chakabva’s performance with the gloves and bat left a lot to be desired with his stubborn innings of 77 not out in the second innings of the second test that helped Zimbabwe secure a draw. Regis Chakabva reminded everyone why he deserved to be in the test squad and he has carried that fine form to the domestic scene and the young man wants to prove why he should the number one man behind the stumps for Zimbabwe.
